About Me

About me
Mrs Dilshini Sandhu, MSc, MA, PGDip, BSc, BA

Before becoming a therapist, I studied Music and Psychology, followed by an MA in the Music Industry. I spent several years running a music school, helping people express themselves through sound and story. That work showed me the powerful role creativity plays in healing and self-discovery.

My curiosity about the mind and emotional wellbeing led me to complete an MSc in Psychology and Neuroscience at King’s College London, and to train as a psychotherapist at the Metanoia Institute—a place that deepened my understanding of presence, listening, and holding space for others. In September 2025, I’ll begin the Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy, where I'll be researching implicit bias and how to strengthen therapeutic relationships across difference.

As a South Asian therapist, I understand the cultural stigma, unspoken expectations, and intergenerational dynamics that often shape how we relate to mental health. I’m passionate about making therapy inclusive, accessible, and affordable—especially for low-income communities and London’s diverse populations who often struggle to find therapy that truly reflects their experience.

I’ve worked across a range of clinical settings—from supporting children with complex mental health needs, working in a forensic unit at Bethlem Hospital to supporting people in the community. These experiences have shaped my approach: warm, grounded, and centred on your unique lived experience.

Outside the therapy room, I write about mental health and emotional wellbeing, with work published in The New Psychotherapist and Medium. Whether you're navigating anxiety, cultural identity, family pressures, or simply looking for space to breathe—I’m here to walk alongside you.
